West Mercia Police has introduced the new telephone number ‘101’ for non-emergencies that do not requires an immediate response, such as car theft or property damage. Read more at the West Mercia Police website.


The RCA Quiz Team recently came first in a competition round held at Much Wenlock, and second in a round held at Stapleton. The next round is at Marton on 14 January.


On Wednesday, 29 September from 10.15 to 11.45 a.m., Copthorne Townswomen’s Guild will be holding a coffee morning at the Radbrook Community Centre in aid of Help the Heroes and the Haematology Unity at RSH. Tombola, cakes, mystery parcels and bottle stall. Entry 50p to include tea/coffee and biscuits.


Shropshire Council is proposing a new toucan crossing and mini roundabout on Radbrook Road and a reduction in the speed limit from 40 mph to 30 mph. See the Cycle Shrewsbury website for more details.

The cafe based at Radbrook Green shopping centre will be closed from Monday, 3 August to Monday, 10 August while the volunteer staff take a well-earned rest.


On Saturday, 13 June, the comedy trio Three Men in a Bow Tie performed to an audience of about 90 people at the Radbrook Community Centre. A good time was had by all and over £500 was raised for the Severn Hospice.


The Annual General Meeting of the Radbrook Community Association was held last Friday. At the conclusion of business, people were invited to stay for drinks and nibbles while they were entertained by a group of young people who sang a medley of songs. The children are called Meole’s Got Talent and meet to rehearse every Saturday morning at the Meet Place on Meole Estate. They sang beautifully under the guidance of their conductor Lorna Crosse.
